Near perfect conditions at Toormina again last Friday night for Track racing, it’s even better under lights. With the Coffs Carnival only three weeks away riders are starting to hit form with old hands and newer riders alike charging for the line.
A solid field of open rides had a tough night out finishing off with a heated 10k points race. Well done to the Warburton’s who survived a very tough elimination to take the bell lap, and then backed up to be amongst the places in the 10k points race. All up they would been involved in a dozen sprints over 18km on the track. Kudos too to Chris Jahnz Voigt who cooked himself out the front of the open elimination. Granted, it might not be the most intelligent way to race, but he gave himself every chance to avoid elimination and stay in the race. Thanks to all those who helped on the night and to Numa Warburton for hanging me out to dry in the Italian. Race Results:

Racing this Friday from 6pm. We will be replicating the Country title events, so juniors please be early to ensure your roll-outs are correct. If you haven’t already done so, please enter for the Coffs Carnival coming up in two weeks, entries close this weekend and no late entries will be accepted. It may be a while before you get the chance to race for a country title on home soil again, and this is a great chance for Coffs racing cyclists to show local businesses, media and the local and regional community that greater attention to cycling as a sport is warranted. See you there!
