Well done to new member Peter Wheatly who pulled out a blistering lap to record the fourth fastest lap of the night, (and fastest on steel) not too shabby for someone with less than a month on the velodrome aboard a borrowed 1970’s track bike. Pete hardly left the track at one stage, coming a close second in his derby heat, staying out there to win the repechage, then after taking a quick breath while the kids raced their wheelrace, raced the Harold Watson wheelrace and again stayed on the track to race the Derby final. Nice work tough guy. Pity a few more Coffs ‘cyclists’ don’t have that much heart.

The Club Champion is decided on aggregate across four races scored on a 3,2,1 points basis. With one race to go, it looks like Richard Berends will be the 2011 Senior Club Champ, Numa winning the U19’s, Nathan the U17’s, Troy U15’s, Shaun U13’s, Alissa U11’s and Oliver Sloan the U9’s. The Vets class however is wide open with the strong possibility of a ride off to decide the 2011 Vet’s Club Champ. Steve Sloan is on 5 pts, Adrien Thompson is on 6 and Alistair on 7. Should be good to watch, nothing wrecks like a pursuit.
