A cool sea breeze greeted riders at the Toormina Velodrome last Friday night. Nothing unusual about that, as it is only several hundred meters from the coast. As usual the track looked excellent under lights, and riders enjoyed an action packed night.
Friday night saw one of the best nights of racing in recent memory at the Toormina Velodrome. Perfect weather, no wind, and heaps of enthusiasm made for a great night of track magic.
Coffs Harbour will again host the NSW Country Titles at the end of October so an early start should see our riders well prepared on home soil.
Near perfect conditions at Toormina again last Friday night for Track racing, it’s even better under lights. With the Coffs Carnival only three weeks away riders are starting to hit form with old hands and newer riders alike charging for the line.
The final races of the 2011 Coffs Harbour Cycle Club Track Championships have been ridden and won, Richard Berends taking out the senior category as expected, Alistair Lane taking out the Vets Category, and Emma Richardson repeating last year’s win to take out the Women’s title.

Perfect conditions for racing on Friday night at the velodrome, hardly a breath of wind and threatening rain cooling down an otherwise warm & muggy day.
It was another fine night at Toormina last Friday with a modest field turning up to race under lights at the velodrome.
One of the strongest local fields for some time took to the Toormina Velodrome under lights on Friday night. Conditions were perfect and the racing first class all night.
