The Mebbin Marathon was reported to be a very wet and challenging slog!!! Tim Cotsell won his age group, coming in 3rd overall in the 37km race. Well done to all the other competitors who braved the savage conditions.
Greg Howarth placed 4th in his age category in the DT Swiss Mountains to the Beach. Awesome effort Greg! The 2010 DT Swiss Mountain to Beach involved 280 km of cross country racing from the Thredbo Top Station (1937 metres) to Narooma over five days. In addition to the six race stages there were four mandatory cruise stages covering 100 km. The course included a time trial down the slopes of Thredbo, a pre-dawn lap race on rough terrain, fast single track, undulating farmlands and grassy plains. The longer stages included several long steep climbs on remote access roads and fast and often ruggard descents. Stretches of a well graded road or well worn track were generally cause for celebration. The event was very well organised allowing the riders to focus on racing and recovery. I can recommend the DT Swiss Mountain to Beach not only as a great race but as a challenging adventure. http://www.wildhorizons.com.au/mountains-to-beach
Next race is the Port Macquarie 6/12hr March 20/21. Get your entries in!
