This is a terrific opportunity to attend a club meeting and get involved in what the plans are for the club moving forward and to put your hand up to get involved. Our current hard working committee members have been involved in their roles for some years now and we are actively looking for some members to step up and into a committee position. Track Racing Details:
  • When: Saturday afternoons; sign-on is at 4.00pm with a 4:30pm race start, but when it warms up we switch back to 5:30pm for 6:00pm race start. The season runs through spring and summer.
  • Cost: $5 for seniors & juniors.
  • Events: Typical events include; graded scratch, handicap, keirin, match sprint, elimination.
You'll need to show your CA licence and pay track fees to compete.

We’re really looking forward to taking up where last year left off. With the crowd involvement and supportive atmosphere that this generates, track is always a great place to be and the more the merrier!

The more people that turn up the more grades we can run. Training has been well supported throughout winter and with some riders showing good form we look forward to seeing some close competition. We're also looking forward to converting the numbers from junior training and the ladies squad to competitors too.

Please remember folks that there are no sheep stations on the line at track and if you fluff a race… Well another one starts in 5 or 10 minutes.

The track season officially commenced about a month ago on Monday nights and has seen good numbers increasing each week.
This Saturday night's event coincides with the weekend training camp which will ensure larger fields and some interesting racing. Racing is not limited to those participating in the camp, so if your track bike has been gathering dust in the shed, now is the time to bring it out for a spin.

The canteen will be open with a BBQ so even if you're not planning to race you are most welcome to come along for the social event and/or spectate.

Cost: $60.00 (includes Saturday, Sunday and Club Racing)

  • Cold drinks and BBQ will be run
Sunday:
  • Arrive 8.00 for 8.30am start
  • Motor paced warm up
  • Track positioning
  • Flying 200 metre effort (getting lines right)
  • Motor paced 200 metre effort
  • Coming off a wheel
  • Finish 12.30
What to bring:
  • Track bike - clean and in operating order, adjusted to correct age rollout
  • Gear change tools if required
  • Pump and spares (tubes, wheels, etc)
  • Helmet and race gear
  • Chair and/or rug to sit on
  • Towel
  • Water, sports drinks and snacks
  • Tracksuit/warm clothes/change of clothes
  • Notebook/diary for taking notes
  • Somebody to assist with holding and time recording

We will announce a new date as soon as we can.  For those who can’t make it to the rescheduled race we will issue a refund less the Register Now/MTBA transaction fee.  We ask you to wait until the new date is announced, and then email secretary@coffsharbourcycleclub.org.au with your name and your MTBA number.

We have been advised that weather conditions have not been as bad at Nambucca Heads and the trail there is quite different to Coffs so their race is still planned to go ahead – please keep an eye on the Nambucca Cycle Club facebook page for any updates.

Thank you for your understanding and let’s hope for some nice weather for a change.
